Teamwork and effective communication have been identified as important tool for hosting a successful event, which will further foster strong partnership and ensure wider coverage of the forthcoming National Sports Festival (NSF)in Ogun State.
Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka stated this during a meeting with Radio Sports Writers and Presenters in Abeokuta, emphasising the need for synergy between the Ministry and media practitioners.
Hon. Wasiu said it was imperative to leverage radio platform in creating awareness and engaging a wider audience for the festival, assuring the ministry’s commitment to utilise the traditional and social media platforms.
“We recognise the critical role you play in shaping public opinion and promoting sports development. Your support is invaluable in making the National Sports Festival a resounding success. This is the time to do more than we have been doing already. We want to ensure that every citizen of Ogun State and beyond is aware of the NSF significance and our preparations. Your platforms will be instrumental in achieving this goal”, he said.
The Commissioner stated that government was ready to provide enabling environment for sports to thrive in the state, noting that the Festival would be an avenue of discovering and developing athletes across the state.
Hon. Isiaka announced plans to visit various media houses across the state, reinforcing his dedication to building strong relationships with sports journalists and on-air personalities.
