A group of women in Benue State on Wednesday stormed the Government House, Makurdi carrying placards and chanting songs decrying the persistent massacre and insecurity in their communities.
The placards boldly written with various inscriptions pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to end banditry, among others in the state.
The women also sang dirges in their local dialect and expressed their anguish over the worsening security situation that has left many displaced and widowed.
One of their chants, loosely translated into English, which means;
“We can’t go to our farms, If we go, they will kill us please come to our rescue”.
Other inscriptions appreciated the President for identifying with them.
