President Cyril Ramaphosa of South has stated his displeasure in the recent attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa. In a video on his Twitter handle today, 3rd September, the president said: “the attacks on foreign nationals is something that is totally unacceptable.”
“There can be no justification whatsoever about what people are having their grievances over that they should go out and attack people from other countries because when they do so here, they should also know that fellow South Africans will be attacked in other countries.” President Ramaphosa said.
Meanwhile, in reaction, President Muhammadu Buhari has dispatched a special envoy to South Africa to discuss this recent attacks, especially on Nigerians. The special envoy is expected to arrive Pretoria on Thursday.
