IMO PAST DEPUTY GOVERNORS COMMEND FAIRNESS AT THE JUST CONCLUDED APC CONGRESS
Past Deputy Governors of Imo State, His Excellency Chief EBERE UDEAGWU and His Excellency prince Eze MADUMERE have commended party members for their turnout on the just concluded party congress in Imo state last Saturday.
9News Nigeria reports that party members and all major stakeholders of APC were at their wards to exercise their rights as party members.
Recall that the leadership of APC after deliberations set Saturday 31st July 2021 as the date forward congress in the nation.
However, that of Imo was embodied with litigations from expunged members of the party during the last elections.
Our correspondent in Owerri reports that the embattled former Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha, who is yet to revalidate his membership in the party together with his sympathizers has made frantic efforts to frustrate the proceedings of the party towards fairness, justice, inclusiveness and equity.
It was authoritatively confirmed by 9News NIGERIA that the efforts of the charade were grounded when an FCT HIGH COURT dismissed the injunction seeking to halt the congress.
Imo party faithfuls vindicated the vision and mandate of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma who said he would embark on an evangelism of the party in the South-East.
Party faithfuls in their numbers trooped out to validate their membership by getting involved actively in the congress which was held peacefully and conducted in fairness.
Later on, the Chairman of APC ward congress for Imo State HON GODWIN ANAGHUE told the press that Apc in IMO was one big family and that has been demonstrated in the congress held in the 305 wards in the state.
We reported earlier that the Governor of Imo State has advised party members to apply best practices for democracy during the congress, hence the only way to strengthen the mandate of the party and forestall unfortunate incidents.
Amidst crowds of electorates, the congress was done without any incident of division, banditry or violence while the people rejoiced.
