Recently, Ebonyi State capital city started witnessing heavy inflow of vehicles in all the major roads that were hitherto lonely paths.
This, experts believe is because of the influx of people – especially investors and those in search of greener pastures into the state, since the state has the potentialities of emerging world headquarters of investors as a result of the quick as wink transformational strides of Governor Umahi.
Like the law of inertia, where a body will always be immovable unless a force is applied, Ebonyi State, was literally in a state of coma – static, immovable, before Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi applied ‘force’ that woke the state from inertia, slumber and coma. That force is responsible for inflow of people into the state.
But the governor, not being short sighted, made adequate provisions to cushion gridlock that maybe witnessed because of the massive development he envisaged – the construction of flyovers spread across the length and width of the state.
One of the flyover bridges which is located at Akanu Ibiam Junction Abakaliki – standing side by side with the Muhammadu Buhari glass tunnel is really a site to behold – the flyover has eased the heavy traffic at the junction.
It is one of the most greatest feats of engineering in the 21centuary. Anyone who has seen it can testify that it was a perfect solution to what would have become a heavy traffic point.
Even as I write, Ebonyi State is been ranked one of the best states in Nigeria both in infrastructure, Empowerment, Agriculture and otherwise.
The governor knew once the state is developed to attract investors, there will automatically be influx of investors but the issue of heavy traffic is no longer a problem as investors can freely go to and from the state without delay as he also approved the installation of traffic lights in all the strategic areas of the state to ensure that Ebonyi is not only secured but traffic free.
Indeed Governor Dave Umahi has created a state full of infrastructures to better lives of both international and local dwellers and this has made several people who are searching for greener pastures to think Ebonyi first.
