ANAMBRA: The lifeless body of the abducted Polaris Bank Manager, Ifeoma Onyekwelu was recovered a day after her abduction was pronounced both by her office and immediate family.
Reports have it that a newly promoted banker in Anambra state Nigeria was abducted by unknown persons after her work earlier in the week. Unfortunately, her dead body was recovered on Tuesday 14th January, 2025, at a certain refuse dump in the state.
Several news platforms, social media outlets and newspapers have carried the story to alert the public on the dangers of adduction ravaging the society. It was also reported that her death may likely be linked by the newly pronounced elevation of her status to a bank manager.
9News reports that the abducted Ifeoma Onyekwelu was a banker at a branch of Polaris bank located in Anambra state Nigeria where she worked till her sudden kidnap by yet-to-be- caught assailants.
Ify as fondly called by her admirers and customers was promoted recently to the position of a bank manager in same Polaris Bank Anambra where she worked till her abduction that led to her death.
Eye witness confirmed that the slain lady was a Jovial and seasoned banker that always smiles at her customers in the discharge of her official duties in the Bank.
Ify was a well known banker that take her customers as very important people to run business with. She hardly go angry but always helping customers to enjoy the right of customership whenever one visits her Polaris bank branch.
“It is a great pity she was abducted and killed even after we heard her family and friends paid ransom to the assailants. I’m pained”
The news broke that the banker who was kidnapped and ransom paid was still killed by the assailants yet to be identified.
A call to the state police command Anambra state has confirmed her death at press time and promised thorough investigation into the matter to unravel the killers.
The entire staff and customers of Polaris Bank in Anambra state are mourning for the killing of the late Ifeoma because of her simplicity and care for bank customers exhibited during her service as a banker.
9News Nigeria gathered that late Ifeoma Onyekwelu hard work and dedication have earned her a position of Bank manager that was just barely pronounced weeks ago and her abduction that preceded to her killing by her abductors.
Reviewing the series of reports regarding Ifeoma Onyekwelu’s killing by her abductors, an employee at Polaris Bank, indicates that her tragic experience may be connected to an insider within the bank.
Ifeoma, who was recently promoted to Bank Manager, went missing on December 13, 2024. Her lifeless body was found near a refuse dump on January 14, 2025, after her relatives paid a ransom.
It is essential for security authorities to begin their investigation at her branch or the branch she previously worked at, as some elements of this case do not align.
We have also put a call to one of the branch managers who confirmed that it was Ify that was pronounced dead.
Another customer of same Polaris Bank Branch has expressed bitterness and shock over the news of ifeoma’s death saying that she was shattered and traumatized till press time. “The News was unbelievable until her corpse was identified at a refuse dump in Anambra state.
“Ify was a dedicated banker and one of the oldest staff of the bank. a beautiful, cheerful, ever smiling soul.
“Each time I stepped into the bank, Ify welcomed me with her contagious smile and hailed; “My Honourable, onye nkem”. Always approachable and ready to attend to her customers with dedication and compassion
“I heard just today that she was promoted to a branch manager recently and that she celebrated the elevation and next news was her abduction and killing. So sad!

Ify often minded her business and had no time for inanities. She as a contented lady from a responsible and comfortable family, her customer cried out.
It is no longer news that the popular lovable Polaris banker Ifeoma is no more and police is investigating the killing to unravel the perpetrators of this dastardly.
The people are pouring their heartfelt sympathy at press time and still prayed the planners and killers of Ifeoma Onyekwelu will not see peace in their generation.
