Troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN LAFiYAN JAMA’A in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday March 23, 2025, at about 4.50pm responded to information about criminal activities around Youth Centre at Sabo Layi Axis of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau.
Upon arrival, they encountered a cattle rustling syndicate in possession of 30 stolen cows, a gunfire ensued, forcing the criminals to flee.
During Operation, troops exchanged fire and overwhelmed the criminals forcing them to flee.
Acting in intelligence, troops exploited the general area and arrested one Nashak Wilson aged 29, from Jwakkom village in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State armed with one AK-47 rifle loaded with 2 rounds of 7.62mm (Special).
Further exploitation led to to the recovery of 30 cows rustled by the criminal syndicate.
The recovered cows have been handed over to the owner, Alhaji Yakubu Musa from Kwahas village in Mangu LGA of Plateau State.
Meanwhile, the arrested suspect and recovered arms and ammunition are in custody for further action.
Troops are in the trail of the fleeing criminals.
