U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated that no medical procedures or treatments can change a person’s biological sex.
Speaking recently about his executive order banning biological males from participating in women’s sports, Trump emphasized his belief that gender is determined by DNA and cannot be altered.
“No matter how many surgeries you have or chemicals you inject, if you’re born with male DNA in every cell of your body, you can never become a woman. You’re not going to be a woman,” he declared.
Trump’s remarks reflect his long-standing stance on gender and athletics, a position that has been at the center of political and cultural debates in the United States.
His administration had previously taken steps to restrict transgender participation in sports, arguing that allowing biological males to compete in female categories undermines fairness and safety for women athletes.
The statement has drawn both support and criticism, with conservatives backing Trump’s position on protecting women’s sports, while LGBTQ+ advocacy groups have condemned it as discriminatory and harmful to transgender individuals.
