United States President Donald Trump has stated that he will not allow Israel to annex the occupied West Bank, during a rare red line over Israeli actions in a Palestinian territory.
Trump made his comments in the Oval Office following Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s arrival in New York on Friday to deliver an address to the United Nations General Assembly and a meeting with the President.
“I will not allow Israel to annex West Bank. Nope, I will not allow it. It’s not going to happen “, Trump said, acknowledging he had discussed the topic with Netanyahu earlier in the day.
He added, “It’s been enough. It’s time to stop now”.

His remarks signal an alignment with Western and Arab nations, which have warned that Israeli annexation of the territory would effectively kill the idea of a Palestinian state
Trump’s declaration also came after his administration on Tuesday proposed to Arabia leaders a 21-point plan to end war in Gaza, which led to an exchange of ideas among the leaders over how to agree on a final proposal that could potentially bring an end to the conflict.
