Two of the four missing children in Umuahia Abia State have been rescued.

A police told our source that they were rescued on Friday but did not give further details. Efforts to reach the police PRO of the command, ASP Maureen Chinaka proved abortive.

She is currently in police custody. Recall that four children, namely JOY UDOMA (Female, three years old), OGBONNA UDOMA (Male, six years old), CHIOMA KINGSLEY (Female, five years old) and MIRACLE IKECHUKWU (Female, five years old) were abducted last weekend by female tenants who recently moved into a compound in Ubakala Street, Umuahia.

They packed in barely three days before committing the crime. The police while confirming the incident said one Mrs Ifeanyi Udoma Ibe, a resident of Uwalaka Street by Ossai Road, Umuahia, reported to the Central Police Station(CPS) Umuahia that she entrusted four children to the care of a new female tenant, including two of hers and her neighbours’. On the same day, the new tenant made away with the four children, the command said.

At the moment, two of the missing children are yet to be rescued and a suspect is still at large.
