Two motorcyclists, known as okada riders, were on Friday crushed to death in an accident in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
9News Nigeria gathered that the accident occurred around 8:25 pm at Kotopo, opposite Forte Oil filling station, Obantoko area of the Abeokuta-Ibadan highway.
It was gathered that the accident involved two Bajaj bikes, one of which was registered as SGM 006 VG and a Leyland tipper truck marked AAB 969 XV.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement corps said the two motorcyclists rammed into the truck due to their recklessness while on the road.
“The accident was caused by reckless driving/impatience on the part of the bike riders, as they rammed into a tipper truck moving in the opposite direction
“The two motorcycles and the tipper truck have been taken to Aregbe police station. One dead male was taken by his relatives (Hausas), while the other rider was confirmed dead by a medical doctor at the FMC and was deposited at the morgue,”
