Former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has called on residents of the state to remain calm following reports of a United States airstrike conducted as part of ongoing counterterrorism operations in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Tambuwal assured the people that he is engaging relevant authorities to obtain comprehensive and verified details surrounding the reported operation, adding that accurate information would be communicated promptly to the public.

He emphasized the need for restraint and vigilance, urging residents to avoid speculation and misinformation while official clarification is awaited.

Recall, pandemonium broke out in Jabo, a town in Tambuwal local government area on Thursday night, following the U.S military strikes.

U.S President Donald Trump had announced a major operation in Nigeria, signalling the killing of terrorists causing mayhem in the country.

Tambuwal hailed the cooperation between both countries, which is seeking to end terrorism in the northern region of Nigeria.
