The notice was made for trade partners including travel agents, and it indicated that all visa applications should be rejected, sent back, or cancelled. The Dubai authorities announced that all applications were halted until problems between the governments of the UAE and Nigeria were handled, despite the lack of an explanation for the restriction, in other words, all Nigerians should wait until the lifting of the ban to apply for UAE visas. Expats and residents who are already in the UAE will not be affected by this ban.

However, if you have already obtained a valid visa before this ban issue and the flight ticket to UAE, you can still continue on your trip. This information came from an Air Peace customer service representative, it was reported that passengers who already possess a valid visa are still being flown to Dubai by airline. The spokesman noted that no problems had yet been brought up and that any modifications that would affect flights for Nigerians would be properly communicated.
