Following reports by some Imo based Newspaper houses that Umuoma Nekede community has dragged Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Hon Noble Abiaso Atulegwu to court, the Traditional Ruler of the community HRH Eze Morrison Soronnadi Eke- PhD has denied such publication saying that anybody doing that does it on his/her peril.
The monarch frowned at such publication saying that the suit filed by Barr Sonnie Azuike and Elder Goddy Obiyor is on individual grounds, not for Umuoma Nekede Autonomous Community.
Eze Omadike maintained that Umuoma Nekede Autonomous Community did not consult any legal service on family lands neither did the community sue or have any intension to go to court with the lands commissioner.
Meanwhile, the monarch also stated that Goddy Obiyor is not his palace secretary and does not have the capacity to speak for or on behalf of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous Community without the authorized consent of the Traditional Ruler of Umuoma Nekede, His Royal Highness, Eze Morrison Soronnadi Eke-PhD.
Omadike however maintained that he is the head of Umuoma Autonomous Community and that high thinking demands that he will be consulted whenever there is any doubt on issues concerning his community.
In addition Umuoma monarch advised the Journalists to uphold to descency and high sense of responsibility, the freedom of press granted them. “All of us recognizes freedom of press and condemn constraints in press freedom”
While speaking on the good relationship Umuoma Nekede has with both the commissioner for lands, Hon Noble Abiaso Atulegwu and the state government led by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma, Omadike reassured the governor of his second term bid and call on the land commissioner to ignore such publications.
