A police station in Ojoto, in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state, has been reportedly attacked by hoodlums whose identity has not been known.
The report which was available to 9News Nigeria Anambra correspondent in Awka said that the gunmen who stormed the police station in three Toyota Siena vehicles opened fire at the officers found in the station thereby killing one police inspector on the spot.
9News Nigeria gathered that the incident happened on Thursday, 10th June 2021 amid heightened security tensions in the state and other South-Eastern states.
In addition to killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen, open attacks on government security posts by some unknown gunmen alleged to be criminal elements among the ESN/IPOB agitators have left the entire South-East insecure and panic.
