French football star, Kylian Mbappe is on the verge of owning a club in his home country as a deal to take over Ligue 2 side SM Caen nears.
The Frenchman joined Spanish giant, Real Madrid from French side, Paris Saint-Germain.
According to reports, negotiations are still ongoing as Mbappe is close to finalizing a €20 million ($21.6m) purchase of SM Caen, a Ligue 2 club.
The reported deal would place Mbappe with a stake from the American investment fund Oaktree Capital, which has held an 80% share in the club since 2020.
French media reports that Caen nearly signed Mbappe when he was 13 years old.
