The Imo State Governor, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma CON has called for sustained unity among Islamic groups in the State, emphasizing the need for solidarity, togetherness and cooperation for the peace of the State.
Governor Uzodinma stated this at a strategic meeting in a pre Islamic festivity that will commence on Monday through Tuesday in the state.
Addressing leaders of various Islamic organizations on Sunday, 16th June 2024 at the Imo State Banquet Hall, the Governor urged them to strengthen their bonds, working collectively towards common goals.
The Governor graciously reiterated his administration’s resolve to promoting religious inclusivity, where all religious groups can thrive.
The leaders of the Islamic groups expressed their gratitude to the Governor for his support and pledged to continue working together to uphold the principles of unity and peace.
This meeting was Inline with the celebration of the Eid festivity that led to the declaration of two days public holidays which Included Monday and Tuesday.
The Governor further called for maximum calm in the state while charging the security operatives to exhibit professionalism in discharge of the official duties mostly at this festive holidays.
He further wished the Muslim groups and all the Muslim faithful in Imo state a successful Salah celebration.
