Two South East governors, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Alex Otti of Abia State have requested an audit to ascertain lingering uncompleted projects undertaken by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

They said these projects were funded and handled by the Federal Government through (NDDC) and should be completed to achieve the aim of embarking on them.

The two governors are, therefore, calling on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Abubakar Momoh to set in motion the process of such audit, which will ensure that they were completed.

As contained in a statement, the two governors made the plea when the minister undertook a significant working visit to the two states, which was aimed at fostering development and strengthening ties within the Niger Delta.

The statement was signed by Eunice Akro, the Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Niger Delta Development in Abuja.

Governor Uzodinma lauded the minister’s initiatives but emphasized the necessity of auditing incomplete projects and reassigning the Amnesty Officer within the Ministry.

He said: “This is to create an enabling environment for infrastructural development, economic empowerment of youths and women, as well as access to wealth, guaranteeing lasting peace and prosperity in the region.”
