Veteran nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known and called Ogogo, has been confirmed dead after losing a prolonged battle with cancer.
The 66 -year-old actor, reportedly died on Sunday following struggle with the illnesses.
Recently, his daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, made separate emotional appeals to medical professionals, hospitals and well-wishers, seeking help to secure further care for their father.
The appeals came after the family disclosed that doctors had informed them that chemotherapy could no longer be administered, prompting them to seek other medical options. However, an independent medical expert, has explained that a shift from chemotherapy to palliative care can cure in advanced cancer when further disease-directed treatment is no longer considered appropriate.
The news has triggered an outpouring of grief among fans, colleagues, and members of the Nigerian film industry, with tributes continuing to pour in for the veteran actor.
Ogogo was one of the prominent figures in Yoruba-language Nollywood, with career spanning several decades as an actor, screen writer, producer and director.
