Tens of thousands of vintage vehicle enthusiasts and curious onlookers gathered on the beach at Ouistreham in Normandy to watch races between vehicles built before 1947.
Eighty vehicles, both cars and motorbikes, were selected to take part. Competitors came from 15 countries including the US and Canada.
Entries were paired and raced in ‘runs’ along the Riva Bella beach.
