Wealthy Nigerians should promote God’s work – Ifeanyi Ubah

Wealthy Nigeri­ans have been charged to use part of their riches to pro­mote the work of God.
The admonition came from the Chairman of Cap­ital Oil and Gas Industries Limited / The Publisher of The AUTHORITY news­papers, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
Dr Ubah, who spoke in Lagos on Sunday, particularly urged the affluent Nigerians to spend some of their resources on evangelical missions.
In a message he sent at the unveiling of flags of some popular football clubs at the All Saints Anglican Church, FESTAC Town, Lagos, to raise funds for the church’s forthcoming 2016 Harvest Thanksgiving, Ubah noted that riches come from God and should be used to serve Him.
He said what gives him the greatest joy is having the opportunity to contribute to the work of God, add­ing that he is ever ready to support the church whenev­er he is called upon to do so.
While promising to be present at the event-prop­er, Ubah said that “Nigeria is going through a very difficult time now so we need to get closer to God and ask for His mercy and blessings.”
The clubs, whose flags were unveiled at the event, were Chelsea, Arsenal, Man­chester United, Barcelo­na, Super Eagles, Super Fal­cons, Rangers International, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, All Saints Football Club, Diocese of La­gos West and September Ba­bies FC.
The event attracted digni­taries and fans of the various clubs, including former Super Eagles’ Captain, Mr. Sylvanus Okpala, who unveiled the flag of the Super Eagles.
In his sermon during the service, which was also used to mark the end of the Youth Week of the church, Rev. Ope Ibikunle advised younger Ni­gerians to focus on heaven and avoid all forms of distractions.
The clergyman, who quot­ed extensively from Philippi­ans Chapter 3, said it was un­fortunate that the devil was now using the youths to per­petrate his evil deeds.

Ibikunle said: “This is a generation that lays empha­sis on money; where integ­rity has been pushed to the background. The youths have become symbols of indisci­pline. This is a generation that does not want to work and yet wants to have plenty of mon­ey.”
He said that the devil has capitalised on the weapon of Christ, which is the youths, to invade the world.
The cleric stressed that “whatever you do, let heaven be your goal. Do not be dis­tracted so that you don’t lose your focus which is heaven. If you make all the money and fame and you are not at peace with God, you have lost it all.”
