The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, has urged Nigeria’s leaders and citizens to seek inward transformation as a pathway to national renewal.

Kumuyi made the remark in a media chat with journalists at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Rivers on Tuesday.

The cleric who spoke against the backdrop of his forthcoming “Global Crusade with Kumuyi” in Port Harcourt, said that the aimed was to bring spiritual and social transformation to individuals, communities and the nation at large.

He described the programme with the theme, “Turning Point,” as a catalyst for positive change across all sectors of the society.

Kumuyi explained that the theme ‘’signifies a decisive moment in the lives of individuals and by extension, families, communities and the state.

“When we say turning point, we mean in every area and in all areas of our lives,” he said.

He vision was to see a turning point not only for individuals but also for the entire community, the state and the world in general.

He acknowledged the concerns among citizens about governance in the country and stressed that both leaders and followers must desire a personal turning point that would reflect in their public conduct.

He added that actions taken by individuals, whether in politics, business or institutions, form part of their enduring legacy.

“If we think about the legacy we want to leave behind, it is to our advantage to have an internal turning point that benefits families and the community,” he said.

The cleric urged leaders to embrace humility and seek divine guidance in the discharge of their responsibilities, noting that positive internal change would ultimately translate into national transformation and sustainable development.

He added that when influencers and decision-makers experienced such transformation, it would positively impact policies, the economy and other critical sectors.

The cleric stressed that a turning point ‘’does not occur in isolation but spreads through lives that have been impacted.’’

He expressed hope that God would use the programme to touch many lives who, in turn, would influence society positively.

Kumuyi also prayed for a collective turning point for citizens and the nation, saying that such change would usher in a new era of progress in the country.

Also the State Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Rivers, Andrew Osagie, urged Christians to expect a “verifiable turning point” in their lives as the ministry begins a major crusade in the state.

He welcomed the General Superintendent, and expressed appreciation for the privilege to host the church leadership, describing the visit as a divine opportunity for spiritual renewal for members and residents of the state.

Osagie, who is also the Coordinating Overseer, South-South Region, said that the state overseers from across the South-South region had already arrived for the event with their wives, signalling the importance attached to the crusade.

He said that the six-day programme would usher participants into what he described as their “turning point” through faith and divine grace.
