The controversy surrounding the whereabouts of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state after more than two weeks of non-appearance in the public is generating questions.
Where is the governor?
Reports say that the governor may have been taken overseas for medical care, but an aide said the governor is well.
The governor has within the weeks not been seen at public functions, Punch said.
He is usually represented by his Deputy, Mr. Simon Achuba, who only receives visitors on behalf of his boss.
The Governor’s Director General, Media and publicity, Evangelist Kingsley Olorunfemi Fanwo, dispelled the rumour of ailment.
Part of the his statement tweeted by Dumebi Ifeanyi on Monday, said: “Bello is hale and hearty.’’

“I want to state clearly here for the avoidance of doubt that the rumour lacks any iota of truth,’’ he said.
He explained that the rumour was a reflection of the depth the enemies of Bello had gone in their desperate angst against fate.
He appealed to the people to discountenance the rumour as the governor would return from his two weeks break on the 12th of November, 2016.
“Let me also thank the good people of Kogi State for their love and sense of solidarity.’’
Yahaya Bello, a businessman and politician, was born on June 18, 1975.
He was declared winner of the 2015 Kogi State gubernatorial election after he was chosen on the platform of the All Progressives Congress as the replacement for the late Abubakar Audu who originally led in  the election, declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
