Security operatives in Zamfara State have apprehended a suspect identified as Ashiru Jijji for allegedly supplying soft drinks to armed bandits operating within the state.
The arrest, which was confirmed by local authorities on Saturday, is part of ongoing efforts to cut off the supply chain that sustains criminal elements terrorizing rural communities.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect was reportedly caught while attempting to deliver several cartons of soft drinks believed to be intended for a group of bandits in one of the state’s volatile regions.
Security sources said the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation to ascertain the extent of his involvement.
