Alhaji Adamu Lawan, a political bigwig from Borno, popularly known as Zaufanjinba has taken a new role at the national level.
He did that when he became the new Vice President, Badminton Federal of Nigeria.
This is following an election at Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Sunday last week.
The election was presided over by the Executive Secretary, National Sports Commission, Alhaji Shehu Dikko.
Other members from the sports’ commission and the President, Nigeria Olympic Committee, among other high personalities from the world of sport in the country were also in attendance.
Zaufanjinba and Barrister Francis Nwobi, who emerged as the new president and other officials will serve for a four years tenure.
While his contributions to the game of badminton is a notable feet, Zaufanjinba has been an active member of the game and had participated in several badminton competitions across the country.
He spare-headed the committee of Governor Zulum Badminton Championship in Borno State last year.
A veteran banker and former state commissioner, Zaufanjinba was a gubernatorial aspirant under APC in Borno State.
He is also among the likely figures to become the next governor in the state.
