Zulum Commissions Projects At Borno’s Agency

Borno State governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has commissioned some projects at Borno Geographic Information Service, (BOGIS).

The commissioning took place today Thursday at BOGIS premises.

The projects include an auditorium and a media studio.

According to BOGIS executive secretary, Engr. Adam Bukar Bababe, the auditorium is a 180 seater capacity.

Established in 2019 by Governor Zulum, the agency delivers land management and administration services and has implementation several substainable programs on land tenureship and taxation in the state.

As Borno’s land administration bulwark, BOGIS is also involved in digitization of land processes, including automated issuance of certificate of occupancy, among other things

According to the state government, the organization has so far signed about 2,500 certificate of occupancy, noting that only 1,700 were signed since 1999.

While conducting the governor around the agency, Bababe explained that the projects were carried out to improve infrastructure and effective service delivery.

He noted that only 5% of the generated revenue was used to rehabilitate and reconstruct the projects.

Zulum commend the executive secretary and other staff of BOGIS for providng the needed cooperation in carryout the projects.
