Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has disclosed that the Federal Government saved ₦15.8 trillion from subsidy reforms between June 2023 and December 2025.
Oyedele made the disclosure on Wednesday during a press conference on Nigeria’s reforms scorecard.
According to him, the savings solely generated from subsidy reforms helped mobilise additional resources for the Federation.
“Between June 2023 and December 2025, subsidy savings mobilised the sum of ₦15.8 trillion in resources for the Federation,” Oyedele said.
He further acknowledged that many Nigerians may question where the savings from subsidy removal have gone, asking, “Many people will say, where is the subsidy savings?”
