A 19-year-old candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Miss Aaue Samuel Olubari, has won the councillorship seat in Bangha Ward 7, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The local government election, held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, saw Olubari emerge victorious, making her the youngest elected councillor in the state.
Her candidacy had earlier been announced by the APC, Khana Ward Chairman, Hon. Barile Ebenezer, during a Ward-Ward sensitization campaign, where she was introduced to party stakeholders and community members.
Olubari’s victory is being described as a breakthrough for youth participation in politics, with many celebrating her emergence as an inspiration for young people aspiring to leadership positions.
