The General Manager/Special Adviser of Owerri Capital Development Authority,(OCDA) Engr. Francis Chukwu has called on the Management and Staff of the Agency to be selfless in service to God and humanity as well as to see this year’s season of lent as a period of sober reflection.
Engr. Chukwu gave the advise to them during a holy mass to mark the 2022 Ash Wednesday which signified the beginning of a 40 days period of lent.
He described the day as a special one that reminds Christians that they were formed through dust, thereby understanding that life is vanity and must carryout all activities with the fear of God.
“I have advised the staff that there is no need to be under pressure to make money trying to indulge in sharp practices because everything is vanity upon vanity”, Engr. Chukwu said.
A staff of the Agency, Mrs. Nnorom Ugo, Head of Department Health described Ash Wednesday as period of sober reflection for Christians to amend their ways with God Almighty and ask for forgiveness.
In his gospel, Rev. Fr. Chinedum Aga, emphasized that the season of lent is a period for Christians to avoid evil and also a time to fast from sin.
