Former Delta State Governor and 2023 Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
Speaking Today, Okowa stated, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected President in 2023, and for the stability of Nigeria, it’s best for us to have him complete his 8 years.”
His endorsement comes at a time when the PDP is grappling with a series of high-profile defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okowa’s remarks may signal a broader shift among key opposition figures, with insiders hinting that more defections could follow in the coming weeks.

Already, former PDP lawmakers and party executives in several states have announced their exit, citing internal wrangling, lack of strategic direction, and Tinubu’s “bold economic reforms” as reasons for aligning with the APC.
This development may further weaken the PDP’s standing as the main opposition party and bolster President Tinubu’s bid to consolidate power as he eyes a second term.
