The Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance party (APGA), Professor Victor Oye in his Abuja residence.
Making reference to the visit on his official Facebook page, the former Abia State governor posted “I was a guest to National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Victor Oye in his Abuja residence. We held our yearly dinner and also discussed national affairs.”
9News Nigeria Abuja correspondent learnt that the purpose of the visit to the residence of an APGA National Chairman was not overtly unconnected to Orji Uzor Kalu’s interest in becoming the next Nigerian president if he gets the APC ticket at the primaries.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu recently declared interest to run for the 2023 Presidential ticket under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party after receiving massive endorsements from Nigerians of diverse political, ethnic and regional groups.
Similarly, Nigerians have clamoured that the two major political parties in Nigeria should zone the presidential tickets to the South and particularly, South East in order to demonstrate political fairness, equity and justice as a way to assuage the tension in the country that is at the verge of disintegration.
