The Acting Secretary of the Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr Muhammed Kawu in his remarks said that the centre was fully functional as it had in place a 20 bed ward for patients that might require more intensive interventions.
Kawu revealed that the staff of the center have been fully trained in the management of COVID-19 following the first wave and are being deployed to the center.
He also reminded residents that the second wave of COVID -19 appears to be more severe than the first wave as more patients now require more intensive care just as some have succumbed to the disease.
