IMO: UZODIMMA AND HIS RECOVERY MISSION, THE FACT, THE FAULT, THE FAILURE

Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodinma

– SYCOPHANCY RUBBISHING SENSES OF BAD THINKERS AND BAD WRITERS

– IHEDIOHA WOULD HAVE LAWFULLY AND LEGALLY RECOVERED ALL RECOVERABLES WITHOUT RANCOUR AND ACRIMONY

By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

It requires committed thinking to deliver committed writing. All good writers are good thinkers, but not all good thinkers are good writers. Show me a great writer and you’re seeing a great thinker!

Unfortunately, in this era of quick-fix in all aspects of human endeavour, there are too many thinkers who believe they must be good writers, but they end up writing things that betray them as bad thinkers.

Let it be asserted early here that we aren’t against the recovery of looted property and money legally proven to belong to Imo State and Imo people.

After all, it was the PDP RebuildImo administration that was led by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, that initiated the process of legally recovering all looted property and money. So, we can’t be against recovery of looted property!

Our central theme in this short essay is to underscore the extent to which sycophancy can turn bad thinkers into bad writers.

Since the faulty jerky looted property recovery mission embarked upon by Senator Hope Uzodimma, there have been examples of bad writings that exposed the writers as bad and poor thinkers.

In that category is one such write-ups that stated as follows:

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma praying in a church
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma praying in a church

“Unlike the last administration of Former Governor Emeka Ihedioha who paid lipservice to recovery of Imo looted assets by the Okorocha’s administration, Gov. Hope Uzodimma is taking the bull by the horn and going all out to retrieve all the Imo assets from kleptomaniac grips of the former Emperor of the State.

“In all indexes of good governance, strong political will and determination plays a very crucial role in the life of any leader desirous of making a mark.

“While the Ihedioha administration abandoned Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku who was then the head of the recovery committee when he was beaten, striped naked and thrown into the gutter by Okorocha’s armed thugs, the then Governor Ihedioha looked the other way while Jasper suffered that public humiliation and in extension – the government and that was the last of what was ever heard of recovery before the administration exited.”

Evidently, the writer of that poor piece is a bad thinker. He was exposed as such by his bad writing. He mixed his thoughts and hence mixed his expressions.

For example, it’s adroit to aver that “In all indexes of good governance, strong political will and determination plays a very crucial role in the life of any leader desirous of making a mark.”

His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha symbolizes the leader that made very big marks in Nigeria and Imo State, delivering good governance.

But the bad thinker and bad writer was trapped in contradistinction of himself, when he argued that Governor Emeka Ihedioha “paid lipservice” to the recovery of public assets, and that the governor abandoned a senior political appointee that was emotionally molested and physically assaulted by armed hoodlums on the payroll of the then ex-governor, Rochas Okorocha.

Even elementary school pupils could point out the self-contradictions of the bad thinker and bad writer. He mixed up a lot of thoughts and thinking! Hence, he deserved pity, direction and redirection!

Instructively, before that piece of unçouth and unconscionable sycophancy could secure any responsible audience, Uzodimma himself shut up the bad thinker and bad writer with the sharp truth!

Uzodimma announced publicly that he was only implementing the recommendations of the “Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Acquisition Of Land And Related Matters From 2006-2019” that was constituted and inaugurated by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON in 2019.

The Panel was still working when the Supreme Court made Uzodimma governor on January 14, 2020, removing Governor Emeka Ihedioha that was duly elected by Imo people.

Former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha

Truth is that Governor Ihedioha would have obviously recovered all recoverable land and money that the Panels and Committees confirmed to have been unlawfully and illegally acquired, not only by Rochas but also by all other people in the State!

So, is it normal thinking and normal writing to describe as “paying lipservice” the originator of the process that created the atmosphere for the implementation of the recovery by Uzodimma? No!

Could Uzodimma have taken any bull by the horns had Ihedioha not established the Panel that made the recommendations? No!

In fact, could Uzodimma have been talking about recovering anything if Ihedioha didn’t set up the Judicial Panel of Inquiry? No!

We would have left that bad thinker and bad writer with the true confessions by Uzodimma that he was acting on the recommendations of the Panel that was set up by Governor Emeka Ihedioha, but it may be hanging if we don’t clarify some of the erroneous information.

The incontrovertible truth is that because the concept of recovering looted land and money are original to him, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha would have done a better job of the recovery of looted property that was recommended by the Panel, without the street-fight scene of a typical Nollywood movie, that Rochas and Uzodimma have been acting in Owerri and Ogboko!

The common interpretation among the people is that Uzodimma has left the impression that he’s on a vendetta and victimization mission. Certainly, Ihedioha would have done it better, with the backing of rule of law and due process. Looted land and money would still have been recovered in the course of the rebuilding of Imo State!

We feel it’s most irresponsible for anybody to say that “Governor Ihedioha abandoned Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku who was the head of the recovery committee, when he was “beaten, stripped naked and thrown into the gutter by Okorocha’s armed thugs” and that “Governor Ihedioha looked the other way while Jasper suffered that public humiliation…”!
When, where and how did that happen?

We suppose that every reader of that bad thinker’s bad writing must have concluded negatively and poorly on the bad thinker and his bad writing. His way and manner of thinking and writing can be gauged and evaluated from his themes and his expressions as quoted above.

Against normal thinking and acting, that bad thinker and bad writer would rather have hailed and praised Governor Emeka Ihedioha if he had deployed henchmen to go all out and recover Rochas’ property, and probably kill him and his family, if he dared to resist the armed henchmen and thugs!

The bad thinker and bad writer would prefer to eulogize Ihedioha had he deployed armed thugs to attack and possibly murder those hoodlums that attacked Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku at Spibat in 2019, just as Uzodimma did to Rochas at Royal Spring Palm Estate!

He would have been pleased to see Governor Emeka Ihedioha not look the other way, but personally drive down to Spibat, look that way and physically defend Jasper with clubs and cudgels against thugs and hoodlums weilding weapons of mass destructions!

It’s only a sycophantic mischief-maker that will feign oblivious and ignorant of the fact that the PDP RebuildImo administration was founded on pillars of rule of law and due process.

That bad thinker and bad writer forgot that as an exemplary national lawmaker par excellence, Governor Ihedioha did all the good things he did with the backing of the law.

He never acted on his personal attitude and decision. He was never maliciously after Rochas in a do or die way and manner. That was the most impressive aspect of the Ihedioha administration that was guided by rule of law and due process! Little wondered he was profusely endeared to all good people of Imo State at home and abroad.

Nothing in the world would have made Governor Emeka Ihedioha to return fire for fire with Rochas. Never!

Ihedioha is very civilized and cultured to struggle to do things that rule of law and due process would have done with ease and quiet.

He couldn’t have approved any of the illegalities that have been associated with the sealing of Rochas properties before obtaining of Court Orders to seal them!

It’s too obvious that Governor Ihedioha, through his very intellectual and technocratic aides and agents, wouldn’t have condescended so low to engage Rochas in a street fight as Uzodimma did through his henchmen and thugs.

Governor Ihedioha would have made recourse to rule of law and due process, and still achieved the objective of recovering the illegally acquired property!

There lies the difference between Ihedioha and Uzodimma in the very crucial and critical business of government leadership. While Ihedioha is democratic, peace-loving and law-abiding in good governance delivery, Uzodimma has proved to be dictatorial, despotic and disrespectful to rule of law and due process in office, achieving nothing!

Therefore, that bad thinker and bad writer that was ignorantly and sycophantically comparing Governor Ihedioha with Senator Uzodimma was on an exercise in idiotic sycophancy. It was a case of comparing the incomparables!

We’ll reiterate here that there’s no basis for comparing the two. It’s like comparing light and darkness, good and evil.

On that note of truth, we’ll call it a day, having proved beyond reasonable doubts, convincing and not confusing our fans and readers, that the recovery mission that Uzodimma is struggling with, would have been better handled and managed, if it was Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha that was still in charge with the rebuilding of Imo State!

By God’s grace, Imo State must be rebuilt!!
