Anambra State Governor Chief Willie Obiano has reassured Anambra residents of his government’s commitment to maintaining the safety of lives and properties in the state after unknown gunmen attacked the Police Zonal Headquarters Ukpo.
Governor Willie Obiano called on Ndi Anambra to help fish out criminal elements within their vicinity, in order to restore the former status of the state as the safest in Nigeria.
The Governor made the call through his Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke during a church service at Saint Monica’s Anglican Church Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Council Area.
Government House Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that Governor Obiano who regretted the recent activities of hoodlums in the state asked people of the state not to panic as actions are already on to arrest the situation and bring perpetrators to book.
The Governor reminded Ndi Anambra that security is everyone’s business and urged them to report any suspicious person or activities in their area to security agencies for prompt action.
He however emphasized the need for religious bodies in the state to always support his administration with their prayers at all times.
Earlier in a sermon, the Parish Priest of Saint Monica’s Anglican Church Enugwu-Ukwu, Reverend Emmanuel Ogboh whose message centered on good leadership, called on leaders at all levels to always lead by example and be blessings to their subjects instead of taking advantage of them.
Reverend Ogboh called on states and federal governments to device stricter measures to fight insecurity in the country.
