The Lord Bishop of Egbu Diocese in Owerri Imo state NIGERIA, Rt. Rev. Enyinnaya Okoroafor visited the Holy Trinity Anglican Church (HTC) Nekede to lay the foundation stone of the Archdeacon’s house in the church premises located in Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community.
The event took place amidst crowds of Personalities and worshippers who trooped out en-masse to welcome the Bishop and witness the Special assignment.
While praising God for the good work done by HTC Nekede, the Bishop however charged christians to support the work of God without grudges but freewill.
The vicar, Ven Azubuike had earlier commended the bishop for his sincerity to the overseeing the Anglican followership.
The venerable futher stated that Ndi Umuoma Nekede and members of HTC NEKEDE have remained resolute to the service of God and the maintenance of God’s vainyard.
Meanwhile, funds were raised to push up the project while soliciting for helping hands from both individuals, corporate bodies and Government agencies to assist in the work of God.
In his statement, “Umuoma, Peace is costly.There must be issues in life but the maturity to face the realities of life makes us to disagree to agree on, BISHOP OKOROAFOR hinted.
Among other events that took place in the combined church service were;
- Special thanksgiving for the Reconciliation and Inauguration of the leadership Excos of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community.
- Induction of Christian Mother’s Union, Women’s Guild, Men’s Fellowship and Girls Guild.
- Foundation laying stone of HTC NEKEDE Archdeacon ‘s house.
The bishop frowned on the decay in the governance System and seriously Called on Government to restore cleanliness, Safety and peace in Imo state.
He finally rated Holy Trinity Anglican Church highest among others on the assessment of their level of cleanliness, serious devotion to God.
The bishop also appreciated the Anglican youth fellowship and chior, AYF for standing strong to sustain the greatness which the church was known for in the old Owerri Diocese while stressing on the continued unity of the three arms of Nekede, which brought about the establishment of the name of the church “TRINITY”
It was a day of happiness for all and sundry.
