“How can the youths be the future when they are not sure of today , we understand clearly that our future as a nation and state lies in the quality of youths we have today”.
These assertions were made by Gov. Hope Uzodimma at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri during the disbursement of N4 billion to 15,000 Imo Youths, who passed through various vocational training and skill acquisition.
Commending the youths for showing seriousness to be useful to the society, Gov. Hope Uzodimma said, I am happy that a record of 15,000 of you are here as successful graduates of different vocational trainings and skills carried out by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship. Let me say that am proud of you.
Addressing the youths further, Gov. Hope Uzodimma observed that the empowerment program was part of a larger holistic agenda to massively empower Imo Youths in all sectors.
“As we empower 15,000 youths today in different trades, we are also creating a conducive environment for your brothers and sisters who are desirous of furthering their education “.
While admonishing the youths to make judicious use of the seed capital of the N250,000 provided to them, Gov. Uzodimma said that to whom much is given much is expected and that the empowerment would serve as a motivation to work hard other than engage in crime.
According to Gov. Hope Uzodimma, those who are determined to succeed, the amount given would be sufficient enough.
