We’re making progress!

~ A new college of agriculture (technical) underway for Ndi Anaocha, Njikoka & Dunukofia federal constituency.

Earlier Yesterday the House of Representatives committee on Agricultural colleges and institutions held a public hearing on a bill for an act To Establish the federal college of agriculture (technical), Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra state to provide full-time courses, teaching instruction and training in agricultural technology, agriculture and to carry out its due administration and management; and for other related matters (HB. 1261).

After passing the second reading and now being reviewed in committee, Yesterday was set aside to hear from witnesses from diverse points of view on the issue. Members of the committee have returned to analyze the points of view expressed in greater depth, and we anticipate a positive report.

This bill was initiated by my people’s sincere desires for an institution that enhances the agricultural system, which is a major source of livelihood and a wise investment. I am especially grateful to stakeholders from my constituency who showed an interest, attended the public hearing, and contributed meaningfully to the bill’s public debate.
