The general superintendent and chairman of the conference of Qua Iboe Church, Reverend Ekpedeme Efanga has given reasons for the protracted conflict and struggle over the change of name of the church.
Reverend Effanga disclosed that the controversy that led to the division of the Church was a result of the ministers leaving the direction and the focus of the holy spirit into events and issues of the world.
The general superintendent said when the Church moved with the power of the holy spirit, nobody asked about the meaning of Qua Iboe church. But when they began to fail, they began to ask about the meaning of the church, noting that their selfishness and battle for power triggered the struggle.
Rev. Efanga said with the exit of those who were against the focus on the holy spirit, the church was still fostering unity, understanding, and strong relationships to keep one another.
While addressing the different media workers of newspapers, radio, and television stations in Akwa Ibom State who are still the faithful worshippers of Qua Iboe church, Reverend Efanga on the event of the founders day of the church, admonished the practitioners to use the media to re-announce the church and communicate adequate information about the church, as necessary. He said the church wants the world to know that the church was still moving from grace to grace.
He urged practitioners to use the opportunity of working in the media, to publicize Qua Iboe church, and to let the people know the Church believes in the revival of fire, the operation of the holy spirit, and its power in the propagation and building of the Church.
Reverend Effanga said “The church encouraged prayers and believes in the operation of the holy spirit. Our concentration is not on prophesy but on the word of God.”
