President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to combatting drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking in the country.
Tinubu who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume at the occasion of the United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking assures of his administration’s support to those struggling with drug addiction.
Over the last few years, the involvement of youths in drug abuse and other illicit substances has taken an alarming dimension.
Both males and females between the ages of 15-35, artisans, students and graduates, and commercial sex workers are the high-risk groups.
In the face of these challenges, President Tinubu says it is important to adopt a people-centered approach that will focus on prevention and treatment.
