After six successful years at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah may look set to depart Anfield, according to The Athletic. The Egyptian star has been arguably Liverpool’s most influential player since arriving at Anfield for a reported fee of £36.9 million in June 2017.
He currently has 187 goals from 307 appearances for the Reds and helped the team to win the UEFA Champions League in 2019.
Fresh reports indicate that the skilled forward would likely be on his way to Saudi Arabia. Salah has agreed to a three-year deal at €100 million annual salary with Saudi Pro-League club, Al-Ittihad which would make him the second highest-paid footballer in the world after Cristiano Ronaldo.
Talk about some cool cash being made by these football stars! As it is, the plan for most football stars seem simple: make a name in Europe and retire with more money in Saudi Arabia.
It’s been confirmed that the Egyptian wants to leave Liverpool and has informed the board to negotiate a transfer fee with Al-Ittihad.
Interesting times ahead.
