A group of Bandits have reportedly killed Hon Samaila Buhari Mairago, a Lawmaker in Na Nvsarawa State.
Mairago was killed at his residence in Nasarawa quarters on Monday night, October 2, 2023, after bandits launched a deadly attack on the Nasarawa community in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State. Gunmen entered the town, firing indiscriminately and targeting houses without any resistance.
Late Mairago was the councillor representing Nasarawa Ward. An X post by a supposed eyewitness read: “Heavily armed bandits invaded my hometown (Funtua) & killed a Nasarawa ward councilor.
The group stormed the area this evening around 8:50 pm, Honorable Ismail Buhari Mai Rago was also a vigilante leader and very courageous in fighting against bandits in his community. ”
