Court Will Jail INEC Chairman Mahmood in 4 Days Time, Says APGA

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has said in four days, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, will be heading to jail for contempt.

The National Chairman of the party, Edozie Njoku, who addressed journalists in Abuja, on Friday, said the court has already given the INEC Chairman the order to recognize him (Njoku) as the National Chairman.

He said the return to the court on 29th of November 2023, would be sentencing of the INEC Chairman and the others to jail for failing to obey the court’s order.

The party Chair said Nigerians must stand by the institution of the Judiciary to save it from men and women who are committed to compromising justice to ruin its integrity and sanctity.

“However, there are far-reaching implications to INEC’s posturing and grandstanding. It signals an internment to competent Court orders in Nigeria.

“INEC led by Mahmood, simply wants to prove to the world that it has immunity..”
