A former Imo State speaker of the house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Ike Ibe has stated that most Nigerian leaders fail because their appointees are sycophants.
This was disclosed by Hon. Ibe on Monday in Abuja.
According to him, employees and appointees are meant to contribute to the development and improvement of the sector they are in or the society at large.
“Presidents, Governors and leaders have the responsibility of appointing competent hands to run the administration with them and not just people who contributed to their political careers.
“Political and public appointees can shape the destiny of any nation.” He said.
He added that the success of any government depends on the quality and effectiveness of the appointees.
“This is one of the challenges new elected officials face.
“It is proper that leaders appoint the right aides because the success and failure of every administration depends on the quality of the appointees.” He concluded.
