Former Governor of Imo State and ex-senator Dr. Owelle Rochas Okorocha has called on the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, to convey a message to the Federal Government regarding the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, whom he referred to as their son and brother.
During the ongoing Valedictory Session held in honor of the late Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, Okorocha appealed to Akpabio to urge the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to release Nnamdi Kanu to the Igbo people as a tribute to the late senator.
In response, Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio assured Okorocha that he would deliver the message to the Federal Government. He expressed his belief that the request would be considered for the benefit and development of the Igbo states in Nigeria.
