UNIJOS gets first female SUG President

History was made at the University University of Jos (UNIJOS) as the first ever female student Ms. Jane Kangyang Pwajok was elected as President, Student Union Government, SUG.

The Medicine and Surgery undergraduate was duly elected, becoming the first ever female to occupy the position in 49 -year history of the institution.

The keenly contested election saw Ms. Pwajok widespread support from students across faculties, a testament to her leadership vision and commitment to addressing student welfare.

Her victory is not just a personal milestone but also a significant moment for gender representation and empowerment in the University.

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Pwajok expressed gratitude to the student body for their trust and promised to work towards fostering inclusivity, improving campus facilities, ensuring the voices of all students are heard.
