The Kano State Government has announced a cash donation of N1m (One Million Naira) to each of the families of the 22 athletes and officials from the State who tragically lost their lives in a road accident while returning from the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
The announcement was made by the Deputy Governor of the State , Aminu Abdulsalam, following a briefing from sports official on the incident on Saturday.
Recall that 21 Kano athletes including officials who represented Kano State at the just-concluded National Sports Festival held in Ogun State died in a road accident in DakaTsalle bridge, Garun Mallam Local Government Area, 50 kilometers to Kano town,
Several others sustained severe injuries and rushed to Kura General Hospital for emergency treatment.
