Hollywood legend Bruce Willis has reportedly moved into a specially adapted home with 24-hour care as his battle with dementia enters a difficult stage.
The Die Hard star now lives apart from his wife, Emma Heming Willis, and their two young daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.
Emma revealed that the decision, though painful, was made to provide the children with a calmer environment, while ensuring Bruce receives the specialized care he needs.
Willis was first diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022, a condition that impairs speech and communication, prompting his retirement from acting.
In early 2023, his family confirmed that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a rare and aggressive disorder that affects behavior, language, and memory.
The decision to move him into a dedicated home was also driven by the need to shield their children from the distressing realities of his condition.
Willis’s wife will share more about their journey in her upcoming memoir, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope and Yourself on the Caregiving Path, due for release on September 9.
From blockbuster hits like Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, and The Sixth Sense, to his final roles before retirement, Bruce Willis’s career spanned more than four decades.
