The Nigerian Senate has officially confirmed Justice Joseph Olubunmi Kayode Oyewole as Justice of the Supreme Court.
The confirmation followed the presentation and adoption of the report by the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal matters, which endorsed his qualifications and suitability for the apex court.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio congratulated Justice Oyewole on his elevation, while the Committee Chairman, Senator Niyi Adegbonmire, highlighted his exemplary judicial record.
The appointment comes after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu formally forwarded Oyewole”s nomination as stipulated by the Constitution.
