Following several political developments surrounding the upcoming year 2027 elections in Nigeria, a dedicated Igbo group, Ohanaeze Youth Council has openly declared leaders like Umahi, Chime, Ngige, Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu “Persona Non Grata” in Igboland.

This information was brought to our news desk by the group’s national leadership led by Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka after thorough investigation, examination and screening was conducted on the affected leaders and their allies across the political zones in Nigeria.

This recent declaration by the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has caused significant upheaval in the Southeast political landscape, haven five (5) prominent Igbo leaders—Senator David Umahi, Sullivan Chime, Dr. Chris Ngige, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi —haven formally designated persona non grata throughout Igboland as 9News Nigeria reports.

The National President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, issued a declaration on Sunday ,12th April 2026 during a press briefing in Enugu, in which he accused certain political profiteers of “political betrayal” for prioritizing their interests over those of the Ndigbo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The core of the Council’s grievance centers on the recent public endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term by these Igbo politicians.

Comrade Igboayaka asserted that the endorsement is not only premature but also insensitive to the prevailing economic and security challenges confronting the Southeast and Nigeria at large. “It is a tragedy that individuals who have benefited from the votes of our people are now compromising our future for their personal political survival,” Igboayaka stated.

Declaring support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu while ignoring his lack of action on the Southeast’s marginalization and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s ongoing incarceration is considered an act of extreme cowardice and economic sabotage against the economic well-being of Ndigbo.

Comrade Igboayaka presented a critical analysis of Dr. Chris Ngige’s electoral history, highlighting concerns regarding how the former Gov. Peter Obi’s mandate was stolen by Dr Chris Ngige.

Additionally, Igboayaka criticized former Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s poor Senate performance due to lack of integrity and credibility. Former Gov. David Umahi’s inability to initiate the dredging of key ports in Igboland and Former Okezie Ikpeazu’s alleged involvement in electoral malpractices in 2023.

Furthermore, Igboayaka noted the perceived decline in political relevance of Former Gov. Sullivan. Igboayaka questioned whether these individuals possess the necessary political influence and electoral credibility to mobilize Ndigbo to support Bola Tinubu re-election.

These former Southeast Governors allied with Bola Ahmed Tinubu are corrupt politicians seeking to evade the reopening of their eight years embezzlement cases by the EFCC and ICPC, as they lack genuine grassroots support in their home regions.

We therefore call for Social Ostracization against former Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu, Chime Sullivan, Chris Ngige and David Umahi individuals to boycott all their political and social activities as they have renewed their political sabotage against Ndigbo for 2027 Presidential election.

The 2027 “Ballot Revolution” represents a solemn warning to political saboteurs, as any attempts by political elements to illegitimately influence the 2027 elections in the region through these figures will be met with unyielding, democratic resistance.

Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka highlighted that the Ohanaeze Youth Council OYC is dedicated to a “Ballot Revolution” in 2027, where the Permanent Voter Card PVC will be instrumental in retiring “expired politicians” who prioritize their self-interest over the advancement of Ala Igbo.

More shakes and detailed indices are pointing on many other Igbo political leaders across political divides who has continued being recalcitrant to retarding the zone behind the bars of political growth and developmental advancement as 9News Nigeria reports.
