Plateau State security forces have nabbed suspected notorious bandit kingpin Abubakar Adamu, popularly called Buba, in Hokk village, Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State. He is linked to multiple attacks on communities in Mushere West.

The operation was carried out by a combined team of soldiers, vigilantes, hunters, and community leaders under the coordination of the Area Commander of the Operation Enduring Peace in Mushere, Sub Lieutenant Abubakar Aminu Buda.

9News Nigeria gathered that the security team moved into the area on motorcycles due to difficult terrain. On sighting the operatives, suspected bandits reportedly fled into a nearby mountains.

However, the alleged leader, Buba, was apprehended at the Hokk Market Square.

Sources say the suspect was later taken to a primary school playground within the community for preliminary questioning.

For months, Mushere Chiefdom – particularly Mushere West – has experienced repeated attacks allegedly carried out by armed groups, resulting in loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of residents, many whom are now taking refuge in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across Horop, Ik’ngwagap, and Bokkos town.
